Rambagh Palace has had many incarnations since it was erected in 1835. Today it is a luxury five star hotel, but it has formerly been a royal guest house, a hunting lodge and even the residence of the queen’s favoured handmaiden. Its history is illustrious and varied in the heart of Jaipur. Sitting as the Taj hotel brand’s pride and joy, the hotel now has 78 bedrooms and suites that have been lovingly restored to the grandeur and luxury of yesteryear. With features throughout that demonstrate its royal beginnings, the materials that have been used are opulent examples of the wealth that the hotel has seen throughout the years. Hand carved marble ‘jalis’ as well as elaborately manicured Mughal Gardens are places that guests can explore to understand the heritage of the region. The cuisine here is served in rooms that are as elegant as the flavours you will experience. Suvarna Mahal serves up decadent Indian feasts against the backdrop on the 18th Century French styled ballroom where glittering chandeliers will illuminate the delicacies below.
